I use this dedicated site to publish consolidated data and to reduce the redundancy by posting stuff (like an Impress) on all sites. This makes it easier for me and reduces the pain of maintenance dramatically.
A while ago, I decided to split my web presence from a Wordpress based one fits all into a dedicated blog (still based on Wordpress) and a few plain (handcrafted) HTML pages.
So I came up with the idea for this dedicated info site!
However, i decided to move the information back to my blog! This page is now legacy and might be removed, sooner, or later!
Impress Contact Info
Some (or most) of the information might be required by the German and/or the European (EU) law/legal situation.
So primary it's here to protect myself.

Responsible according to the German § 10 clause 3 MDStV, § 5 TMG (Tele Media Act by German law) and § 55 RfStV:
There are a lot of ways to get in touch with me...
You might also find me on several Social Networks and modern communication platforms.
If the network/platform of your choice is not listed, check for my name. If you are unable to find me, just invite me. If I like what I see, I will join it :-)
The content of my websites has been compiled with meticulous care and to the best of my knowledge. However, I cannot assume any liability for the up-to-dateness, completeness or accuracy of any of these external pages. Only their authors are responsible for the content.
Pursuant to section 7 in paragraph 1 of the TMG (Tele Media Act by German law), I as a service provider (interesting enough that this is my role, just because I have some pages published to the web) am liable for my own content on these pages in accordance with general laws. However, pursuant to sections 8 to 10 of the TMG (Tele Media Act by German law), I as a service provider (here we go again) am not under obligation to monitor external information provided or stored on my websites. Once I have become aware of a specific infringement of the law, I will immediately remove the content in question. Any liability concerning this matter can only be assumed from the point in time at which the infringement becomes known to me.
My pages and sites contain a lot of links to the websites of third parties ("external links"). As the content of these websites is not under my control, I cannot assume any liability for such external content. In all cases, the provider of information of the linked websites is liable for the content and accuracy of the information provided. At the point in time when the links were placed, no infringements of the law were recognizable to us. As soon as an infringement of the law becomes known to us, I will immediately remove the link in question.
The content and works published on my pages, and sites are governed by the copyright laws of Germany and Europe (EU). Any duplication, processing, distribution or any form of utilization beyond the scope of copyright law shall require the prior written consent of the author or authors in question. Please read the license part bellow.
A visit to my websites can result in the storage on my server of information about the access (date, time, page accessed). This does not represent any analysis of personal data (e.g., name, address or mail address). If individual data is collected, this only occurs – to the extent possible – with the prior consent of the user of the websites. Any forwarding of the data to third parties without the express consent of the user shall not take place. My Service Provider (Hoster) and CDN providers are an exception here, but this is due to technical reasons and their own legal situation.
I would like to expressly point out that the transmission of data via the Internet (e.g., by mail) can offer security vulnerabilities. It is therefore, impossible to safeguard the data completely against access by third parties. I cannot assume any liability for damages arising as a result of such security vulnerabilities. For that reason, I use SSL whenever this is possible.
The use by third parties of all published contact details for the purpose of advertising is expressly excluded. I reserve the right to take legal steps in the case of the unsolicited sending of advertising information; e.g., by means of any kind of Junk or spam (Unsolicited bulk email (UBE) and/or Unsolicited commercial email (UCE)) mail. And of cause any kind of abuse of the contact info here or abuse of the contact forms in any kind. If you abuse any kind of information that you find on my pages and sites, I'll promise that I submit everything that I can find about you to all Blocklists that I know, and trust me that is a lot!
Unless otherwise noticed, the content of my Websites is licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
Your personal data are processed by me only in accordance with the provisions of German and/or European (EU) data privacy laws. The following provisions to describe the type, scope and purpose of collecting, processing and utilizing individual data. This data privacy policy applies only to my web sites and pages. If links on my sites and pages route you to other pages, please inquire there about how your data are handled in such cases. Some of them might not follow the German/European (EU) data privacy standards and/or host data outside of the European Union (EU). I host all data in Germany and the United Kingdom.
(1) Without your explicit consent or a legal basis, your personal data are not passed on to any third parties.
(2) Under normal circumstances, you are able to use this site and most of their functionalities without providing any individual data. There are a few exceptions where I need some personal data (e.g. your Name, your address or your Mail address). Examples for these exceptions are comments or the contact forms. However, I never share there data with others, and I will not sign you up for any kind of newsletter (or any other list) without your explicit request and permission to do so!
(1) To optimize my web presence, I use cookies on some of the pages (especially on the Wordpress based Blog). These are small text files stored in your computer's main memory. These cookies are deleted after you close the browser. Other cookies remain on your computer (aka long-term cookies) and permit its recognition on your next visit. This allows us to improve your access to my sites or pages.
(2) You can prevent storage of cookies by choosing a "disable cookies" option in your browser settings. However, this might limit the functionality of my Internet sites or pages as a possible result.
To increase the performance and protect my Sites and pages, I use the CDN (Content Delivery Network) of CloudFlare Inc. for some of them. CloudFlare cache content and collect access data. They use distributed infrastructure, and the next/fastest servers might be outside of the European Union (EU). Based on the information CloudFlare published, they keep the collected raw data for four hours (max for three days) before they delete them. There is some information available about how and what CloudFlare collects and stores. And here is a link to the CloudFlareSecurity Policy.
To provide a secure but convenient way to contact me, I decided to use FORMSPREE as a Service. FORMSPREE is a community driven service. You can take a look at the GitHub page of FORMSPREE to find out more about the guys behind the service. According to the FORMSPREE page, they just store 100 form submissions. FORMSPREE uses servers who might be outside of the European Union (EU).
I do not use SendGrid directly, but my Forms Service FORMSPREE does to transfer mails from the contact form I use. So I use them indirectly. So you should take a look at the SendGrid Privacy Policy. SendGrid use servers who might be outside of the European Union (EU). SendGrid promises to respect Safe Harbor Principles for all data received from the European Union (EU).
My pages, sites, and services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. All pages, sites, and services are publicly available and none should contain adult content. Nevertheless, the legal situation for persons under 13 (Even under 18, to be honest) is much more complicated. So I decided to set the minimum age to 13, even if younger visitors should be OK.
According to the Federal Data Protection Act, you have a right to free-of-charge information about your stored data, and possibly entitlement to correction, blocking or deletion of such data. Inquiries can be directed to the following e-mail addresses: contact[at]jhochwald[dot]com
If not otherwise noticed, the impress applies to all my social media profiles. In minimum to the following:
flickr.com/photos/72658433@N00/
linkedin.com/in/jhochwald
twitter.com/jhochwald
xing.com/profile/Joerg_Hochwald
The impress applies to the complete content of profile and not only to the URLs above. This impress will as well apply to all other profiles that I generated on all other (unlisted above?) services and/or networks. It will not apply to generated profiles of me; some services establish profiles by crawling the web for info without my knowledge and/or permission.
It applies only to the content I provide on the social networks/social media services (like texts, source code, pictures, or contact informations). I'm not responsible for the web site or the service itself and/or the functionality! Only the owner/service provider of the network/service is responsible for that.
If not noticed otherwise, my impress and privacy statement applies to all my sub- and sibling sites. In minimum to the following domains (including all sub-domains):
*.hochwald.net
*.hochwald.org
*.jhochwald.com
My impress and privacy statement doesn't apply to the following:
dev.hochwald.net
calendar.hochwald.net
docs.hochwald.net
webmail.hochwald.net
There are technical reasons for that. It might be a 3rd party service that I use via a DNS cname entry or other.
Many (or nearly all) names of products and companies mentioned are registered trademarks ® or trademarks ™ of others.
Here are a (very) few examples of trademarks I use frequently:
Microsoft, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows, Internet Explorer are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation;
Apple, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, MacOS, Apple Watch, AppStore are registered trademarks of Apple Computer Inc.;
Adobe and Adobe Reader are registered trademarks of Adobe Systems Inc.;
Red Hat and Red Hat Enterprise Server are registered trademarks of Red Hat Inc.;
Linux is a registered trademark of Linus Torvalds.
All other products, product names, fonts, company names or logos might be trademarks ™ or registered trademarks ®. Even if they are not in the list above, or if I don't mark them explicit.
I heavily use cloud services to store or transfer all kinds of data. Whenever possible I use encryption to protect personal or private data whenever I store or even transfer them via cloud services. Mostly, this protection is based on EncFS (Encrypted File System) or PGP. Most cloud service providers use servers outside of the European Union (EU).
An exception is the iCloud service from Apple: I really use a lot of Apple equipment, equipment that uses the iCloud service from Apple to store nearly everything (e.g. Text Messages, Call Logs and many other things). Apple promises that this data is saved securely and protected against others, but there is no way really proof that or to enforce any kind encryption from my end. Even so, I personally trust Apple here! Apple use servers outside of the European Union (EU).
The mail service of my domains is mostly hosted by Microsoft in Europe as part of their Office 365 (e.g. Exchange Online) services! I also use Microsoft Office 365 and some other Microsoft Azure services to save and sync calendar/contact infos across my devices and to transfer/save/store other data. The transfer is always encrypted but at the moment, there is no way to enforce an encryption of the data when they are stored in the data centers of Microsoft. Microsoft also uses servers outside of the European Union (EU).
I use a lot (!!!) of different mobile devices, most of the time they are based on iOS or Android. However, I also use a lot of other devices to test them. Trust me, I really spend a lot of time to configure all of them as secure as possible, but there is no guaranty that someone like the vendor (via call home), a carrier or any other service provider doesn’t get access to any personal data from these devices! Many vendors use servers outside of the European Union (EU).
All of my IT (mobile and desktops) systems and mobile devices are configured as secure as possible. All Data (even all my backups) are stored encrypted via Apple FileVault or EncFS (Encrypted File Fystem) whenever this is technically possible.
I never safe any NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) protected content on cloud services or file servers controlled by others without encryption and the permission to do so!
Many people ask me "Why do you publish so many information in such a detailed level?". The answer is easy:
a) I need to publish some information according to the complicated and complex legal situation in Germany and/or the European Union (EU). E.g. Due to the German law, I have to provide my complete contact details on all websites, with a click able Mail address (increases the Spam rate, but nothing else) and a German address and phone number.
b) I think you have the right to know how I use and store data. Many details here are not required according to the legal/law situation in Germany and/or the European Union (EU)! They are here and so detailed, because I want to publish them (and not because I have to).
Interesting: Now that you scrolled all the way down here, and you are still reading, it makes sense to publish all the info. I know that most people didn't care about all these things (and that means their privacy), but I do.
